Oh well. We could dream. And as you can see in the photos, Lucas and I really got into it! As did his preschool teacher who had all the children draw on orange paper and then decorated Lucas' cubby hole. It was the cutest thing. The weekend of the final I went camping with my friend Kay and her little girl, so we had to leave early on Sunday to give me time to get home and get organised for the match. My friend Robin came to the Union where we were watching on a giant screen to keep Lucas occupied so I could give the football my undivided attention. I didn't want to park Lucas with a babysitter as I wanted him to be there. And he loved it. He loved that so many people were wearing the same shirt as he and Mummy, and he loved all the clapping and oohing and aahing. He also loved being the star of the show! So anyway, enough of that... With the same tax refund that allowed me to join the sailing club I decided some personal pamper time was in order, so I went to the hairdresser's twice this week, once for a cut and once for some highlights. It felt very extravagant and totally deserved! :-) This weekend I had two sailing classes, both were somewhat disastrous as the first day we couldn't go out as there was no wind, and today we couldn't go out as there was way too much wind. The first few boats that did go out all capsized so that made me less interested for the day :-). I generously offered to bail out one of the capsized boats when it got back to the pier, and quite miraculously managed to fall into the lake on my way into the boat. With many would-be sailors unable to go out in the bad weather on the pier this was really quite embarrassing. But hey. In spite of the wind it was still very hot, so Lucas and I spent both yesterday and today afternoon in a nearby shaded playground - very relaxing and pleasant. Below are also a few pics from the 4th of July fire truck parade and evening fireworks.
